Crimson Tears Chapter 7
The was a time and a place for everything, no action as it seemed inevitably went with out consequence or some type of dissolution; today’s enemies were tomorrows allies always ending up in a vicious periodicity consummating from one to the other yet never leaving the next unscathed. These were the principals in which Rex had first based the theory of inter dimensional peregrination, now young Anthony following in his footsteps, if Rex had only known just how much his son really was like him, but when your that drunk all the time, you tend not to notice the things around you, the ones you care about the most. Even in this time Anthony could tell he wasn’t exactly the most attentive person the world has ever seen just by the way his mother had been crying, if he’d stop trying to be something he’s not then perhaps realization could set in on what really mattered; love family, the strings that compelled together ones very existence. Anthony knew now that he’d been thinking to long and to hard just by the way his head throbbed when he moved it, lack of sleep probably, the first few hours had been alright then waking up, cold and disoriented in a strange place wasn’t exactly a pleasant way to spend the evening. Shawn had obviously called it a night hours ago, the apartment was dark now; a some what eerie environment when so far away from home as hellish as it was.
The first rays of twilight divulged themselves, entrapped with in the shadows of a new day, Mimi’s body could be seen slumped over in a corner of Rex’s room; collapsed from exhaustion, the only antiquity of a previous nights undertaking. Rex still lay fast asleep, yet plagued by nightmares bending and twisting their way into his subconscious, gripping his thoughts only now of pain, loss and digression.
It was Thanksgiving one the most joyous occasions of the year, at lest it was supposed to be; yet the streets of Salem once packed with people of all races, origin and age were now deserted, except for one. Cassie paced diligently within the first strokes of daylight, haunting the caliginous pavement as if a tiger on the prowl always ready to stalk its prey. Ha, prey really was an over used word these days, with the residents of Salem dropping like flies a certain aspect of danger was present to anyone who dared adjure themselves at such an hour. Cassie showed know fear however, she couldn’t; abhorrence meant death, knowing meant death not knowing meant a chance at life, but she was smart a little too smart just like Rex. Only he had let himself get to emotionally involved with this whole thing; that only clouded his judgement. It still was hard, all those poor people slain down by one of their most trusted friends, she was still in shock herself, even though it would destroy a lot of lives it could save a lot to, for once she was going to do the right thing and go to the police.

Anthony’s eyes snapped open as he noticed something to the far side a window, a calendar it may not have seemed like much, but this one displayed more to him then the average; November 27 THANKSGIVING! (I think that was the American thanksgiving but I have no idea lol us Canadians have ours in early October) It truly was do or die time so to speak, A decision had to be made and fast, if he saved her then his father wouldn’t have to go through more pain, more anguish more loss. But theoretically he could also disrupt the balance of time as he knew it. There wasn’t much time, she’d be dead soon…dead! That was all Anthony needed to know, he had to save her he just had to, so grabbing his coat Anthony ran out of the apartment building but could he make it in time.
The frigid November air surrounded Cassie nipping at her flesh now slightly azure with cold; it wasn’t fit to be out on a morning like this still gloomy from the retreating adumbral. She fidgeted her way among the dark alleys and uninhabited passage ways of Salem Place as chills seemed to rise from her spine, icy but collaborated. Just like the blade gleaming lustfully from with in the shadows; just waiting to abide by its master or mistress as the case maybe. The ivory mask also a product striking only fear in the hearts of its victims, so beautiful yet so deadly just like her the killer.
“Why’d you do it?”
Cassie stammered trying desperately not to show the discomposure wrenched within her soul, she knew there would be no pleading no begging for life there never was. Only the obsolete silence would meet her now just like the killer herself.
“Rex”
She cried softly letting the tears flow freely now, she’d never see him again, she’d never no what it would be like to get married; have a family of her own, to be…loved.
***
Rex thrashed violently beneath the covers of his bed, his fever flaring at a dangerously high rate, muttering words sounding pretty much incomprehensible to Mimi who was now at his side.
“Cassie…no don’t leave me please…don’t leave me” could be made out faintly to Mimi’s estranged ears.
“Rex…wake up it was just a nightmare.”
She coaxed over and over again while hugging him tightly. Nothing seemed to work his fever was too high and needed to be brought down fast. It was getting to the point now where maybe she should call a doctor, but Mimi knew just how much he hated them so she’d give it another half an hour then he’d have to get medical attention.
Another low moan emitted from his debilitated form, this one a little more lively then the last.
“Rex?” she tried again, while wiping the beads of sweat that seemed to have collected on his brow. At least now he was starting to come round, Mimi thought as she took the opportunity to manipulate his semiconscious deviant being into ingesting some Tylenol.
***
Cassie just closed her eyes tight wincing with fear, the waiting was the hardest part, the first inflection of crimson then it just went down hill from there. She felt it now the algid blade pressing coercively against her neck, ready to make that deadly shear in order to sever her jugular. All that came was darkness emitted by a blood curling scream; then came silence…only silence.
Haha lol I think I’ll stop there for tonight, anyone figure out what just happened? Next chapter will be up hopefully by the weekend.
